First sight at Spring/Summer 2016 Couture Week

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Tomorrow is the last day of the Spring/Summer 2016 Couture Week! On this occasion I've decided to devote few entries to the best collections shown this week in Paris!

Atelier Versace

The event kicked off on Sunday, 24th with a stunning Atelier Versace show. It was absolutely beautiful and what I really loved about it (apart from my favourite models squad - Natasha Poly, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Joan Smalls, Behati Prinsloo, Gigi Hadid and Irina Shayk were incredible) was, that it was SO Versace! I love watching the runway and recognising the brand because of its remarkable style. That's exactly what happened during the SS 2016 show: the clothing, make up and the entire atmosphere was kept in a pure Donatella style and I absolutely loved it. This time the designer's maxim was: "The AtelierVersace Spring/Summer 2016 is for powerful women who can achieve their dreams with great elegance and beauty". Check out the video below!

Schiaparelli was the second to present the SS 2016 collection in Paris. Bertrand Guyon arranged his show around the white plates, turning the Hotel d'Evreux into a cosy dining room! The designer commented on decor: "It’s a return to things that are essential, the pleasure of having friends at home". The collection itself was very feminine, kept in mild sugary colours. Some dresses were made out of light fabric and contained buffs. Some literally contained food pieces! Pay attention to the styling as well: massive hair and delicate makeup with distinct eyebrows.

Dice Kayek

The third designer scheduled in Paris SS 2016 Haute Couture Week was Dice Kayek. The collection was inspired by the fairytales, we can notice that especially by looking at those dreamy dresses with buffs and romantic coats.

Christian Dior

Next up, the one and only - Christian Dior. The funny fact is, that this time it wasn't the creative director taking bows at the end of the show. Applause for the young team of designers who showed up in Paris! The collection was beautiful, containing lace, sparkling accents and a diversified palette of colours.

Giambattista Valli

Giambattista Valli's SS 2016 Couture collection was one of my favourites so far. Stunning tailoring and remarkable design impress me every time I watch the latest GV's assortment. It was no different this season. Check out the outstanding Haute Couture gowns below.

The upcoming post will be about Chanel, Armani Privé and Alexandre Vauthier. Stay tuned!
